Post 10: Happy new year and merry X-Mas!

Hi hommies, Last post, the final goodbye to this subject! Let's make this post awesome, shall we? I really liked this subject, at school I remember it was really boring because we didn't speak in english, everything was 'spanglish' (english and spanish) so I couldn't practice the idiom. I feel that my english has improved a lot, I hope I do a good oral and written test. I think that the aspect I need to improve the most is vocabulary, I tend to get stuck in words because I don't know how to say them. I plan to improve this speaking with my american friend and talking about no-common topics to search for new words. Outside the English class I don't practice oral English so much, just written on internet, but in the future I want to go to Canada to improve my English and my studies.  I hope that everybody had an amazing semester, I know how hard it is to overcome with all the academic charge and how frustrating is to fail in a signature, but everything

Post 9 : Changes to my study program

Hi hommies, Today’s topic is “changes to my study program”. I like the study program that my career has (Engineering in Renewable Natural Resources),  actually that’s one of the reasons I chose it. I like the signatures it has because includes language, math and science, the basic knowledge. But I have one problem with one signature: English. English in most universities is obligatory but here is optional, and if you want to take it, you must fight against other people to take it, because many people want it and there are only 20 vacancies. My professors are wise but they don’t know how to teach, most of them don’t have a teacher title. I had a professor that was awful at teaching; he didn’t know how to make us pay attention or how to explain some concepts so I ended up hating the signature. The facilities are nice; there are labratories (old but still labs), and nice classrooms. I don’t like the chairs but last year the university changed some old chairs with new ones and

Post 8: Personal Opinions

Hi hommies, Today the topic is about personal opinions. My teacher wrote about immigrants and I think that is a good topic to talk about since is a national issue that we must solve. My mom told me that she had never seen a black skinned person until she became older. She remembers her father talking about black people when he travelled to Ecuador, but nothing else. Now she sees them every day. According to the news, there has been indeed a raise of immigration in Chile. There are many problems with immigration: jobs (illegal jobs, low wages), lack of a good health system (well, this is for everyone isn’t it?), racism, etc. I always wonder myself…they come here looking for a better life and this is how we treat them? I feel sorry about them. How horrible can life be in their country to give everything for trying luck here in Chile? There are persons who are teachers, doctors, lawyers, and they are in the streets asking for food. I find this a terrible situation. M

Post 7: Environmental Conflicts

Hello hommies, Today, this post will be about environmental conflicts. There is so much to explain but I will try to make it short. Today in Chile there's one particular conflict that has become very popular -sadly- because of the amount of pollution: Quintero-Puchuncaví's bay. Right now I'm doing a report of it and the scenario is impressive: first, media exaggerates the physical scenario. There is no oil in the streets or a black giant cloud above the town (not in the day at least). I have been in Las Ventanas twice because I have had to interview people who live there, and the way media shows it makes such an awful impression that the economy of the town has dropped a lot because people don’t want to go there and get sick. Then, there is the government: they don’t offer a proper solution. They gave a solution once: but it only helped industries to contaminate even more. Isn’t that stupid? Inhabitants have normalized the contamination so much that they don

Post 6: Post graduate studies

Hi homies, today is really hot. I don't like summer, do you? Well, today's topic is post graduate studies. I like the idea of taking courses after you graduate because it allows you to improve your knowledge, and the best part is that there are so many that you can combine them and make yourself a unique professional. For me, I'd like to take one, but not here in Chile. I'm thinking about  Norway,  S witzerland or Canada. Those countrys have a lot of environmental knowledge, so it would be amazing to learn from them to apply here. I would like to take a course of lidership or/and marketing, because I want to learn how to relate with people, teach them about the enviorment and learn how to sell "green" products for big industries so they can mitigate the impact on the environment. I consider important how courses have adaptated nowadays. Many years ago courses could only be teached in presence, but today there are online courses which I find a great way to

Post 5: My future job

Hi homies! Once again I'm here with you, hope you enjoy my company every thursday. Today's topic: job. My mom always asks me: "what would you like to work on?"or "where do you see yourself in 10 years?" Well, the answer is that I don't know. What I know tho, is that I want to finish college and travel to a country with a lot of environmental knowledge so I can learn about them and after that, come to Chile and apply everything I learnt there.  I don't think I would take a major, but I want to do many types of courses like marketing or improve social abilities, so I can learn how to lead society to be more conscious about the environment. I would like to have a job that allows me to lead and grow as a person. I don't see myself seating all day in a desk, I want to talk to people, make relationships, meet new people, etc.  Some aspects I would consider when choosing a job would be location because I don't want to use a car but also I don&#

Post 4: Videogames

Hi homies! Today I'm going to talk about a topic that was won my heart in many ways: videogames. I have played videogames since I was a little girl. It's important for me to tell you that I learned to read thanks to videogames . I had about 4 years old when I recived my first computer, and it became my first console because I played many videogames on it (after that was Wii, Nintendo DS and Playstation 4. All of these consoles belong to my brother, because 'girls don't play videogames' but I am the one who uses them the most (even my brother says so)).  I like them because they are interactive, you are the one who mold it. You chose when it begins and when it ends.  There are many types of genres: adventure, action, sports, race, puzzle, horror, and a big etc. I don't have any favourite genre. But when I was a teenager I used to play a lot of horror and action videogames because most of them had hidden stories like creepypastas. The last game I played w
